According to The Guardian, the English Federation (FA) has opened an investigation into the celebration of Everton striker Richarlison after his goal scored on Sunday in the Toffees’ victory at home against Chelsea (1-0). The 24-year-old Brazilian picked up a smoke bomb thrown on the lawn by the fans and sent it off the pitch.
Kevin Fried, the referee of the meeting did not sanction the centre-forward of the Seleção for his gesture, but the FA decided to investigate the incident anyway. For its part, the management of the English club considers that it is a minor event, even if the subject will be examined internally. “We will look into it but, as far as we are concerned, Richarlison was trying to throw him off the pitch”, explained the spokesperson for Everton according to remarks reported by the British daily. Thanks to this success, the Toffees are back in the maintenance race, but they are still in 18th place in the Premier League.
