OM’s interest in Justin Kluivert is confirmed and official discussions have taken place between the Marseille club and AS Roma.
Eager to strengthen the workforce at the disposal of Jorge Sampaoli at Olympique de Marseille, the president Pablo Longoria is hard at work to fill his coach. The priorities of the Marseille club are clearly established: a central defender and a defensive midfielder to compensate for the departures of Boubacar Kamara and William Saliba. But in the offensive sector, OM will also have to strengthen themselves, particularly in the winger position where only Cengiz Ünder really brought satisfaction last year. With this in mind, a track is seriously dug by the staff of Olympique de Marseille. This leads to Justin Kluivert, loaned last season by AS Roma to OGC Nice, who did not exercise the purchase option to definitively recruit the Dutch wisp.
An OM-Rome meeting for Kluivert
According to information from Gianluca Di Marzio, transfer window specialist in Italy, a meeting was held between Pablo Longoria and the leaders of AS Roma to discuss the Justin Kluivert file. For the time being, it is not known if the positions of the two clubs have come closer and if an agreement is about to be reached. One thing is certain, however, the interest of OM and Jorge Sampaoli for the former striker of OGC Nice is real. The native of Zaandam has however shown inconstancy under the colors of the Riviera last season with only 6 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. But his potential is beyond doubt and could well push Marseille to submit an attractive offer to Roma for the transfer of Justin Kluivert. Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta will nevertheless have to sign a big check to afford the former Leipzig and AS Roma player, whose value is estimated at around 15 million euros by the Louve club.
