Santi Mina (Celta Vigo) sentenced to four years in prison for sexual abuse

Santi Mina was sentenced to four years in prison, without specifying a possible reprieve, for sexual abuse by the Almería court, according to Cadena Ser. Initially charged with sexual assault, the player was eventually found guilty of abuse. He will have to pay a fine of 50,000 euros and not approach within 500 m of the victim.

His club, Celta Vigo, did not wait to react and chose not to allow the 26-year-old player to participate in training. Other decisions could be taken by the club in the coming days.

The victim accuses Santi Mina and his friend David Goldar of sexual assault for facts dating from 2017. A story that happened in Mojácar in the province of Almería. David Goldar, also a footballer but in the Spanish Second Division, was acquitted of the charges.
