these products can be dangerous for health, it is Fusilli pasta

Massive recall alert in France: In the food industry, scandals are linked and consumers no longer know which product to trust. Recently, new controls have just revealed contamination of Fusilli pasta. We will explain everything to you.

When will the food scandals end? In recent times, several scandals have sent shivers down the spine. Because these are common and well-known consumer products. Buitoni or Kinder chocolates have thus been the subject of a recall due to a suspicion of contamination by E.Coli and Salmonella bacteria. A little later, it was the turn of E. Leclerc salmon to be hit by a food scandal. Following contamination with listeria, a recall procedure was thus launched by E.Leclerc.

And now it’s pasta’s turn? It would be problematic. Because pasta, how can you do without it, right? Pasta is the staple diet of many French people. Because it’s easy to cook, it’s not expensive and it sticks to your stomach! In addition, you can vary the tastes depending on the sauces you choose. Unfortunately, this new control establishes that many packages of pasta contain traces of contamination. German researchers performed this test. They have indeed chosen 20 brands of pasta.

Massive recall in France: pesticides, disinfectants, moulds, etc.

And what they found sends shivers down the spine: the presence of mold toxins, the presence of mineral oil, traces of disinfectants and pesticides. And this is no exception to organic brands! With regard to pesticides, these are in particular ethylene oxide. The NGO Foodwatch has been sounding the alarm for a year now. On our plates, we find a worryingly dangerous insecticide. Even organic products are no exception! This substance “is used to disinfect products. However, Europe has banned it since 2011 because it is classified as a carcinogen. This is what the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) reminded the public again last April.

The NGO Foodwatch wants to give more details on the real dangers for consumers. This gaseous disinfectant used in countries outside the EU to prevent any bacteriological contamination of raw materials (salmonella in particular) is not authorized in Europe because it is carcinogenic, mutagenic and harms reproduction. Thousands of food product references have been recalled in France because they contain ingredients illegally treated with ethylene oxide.”

Presence of glyphosate, very toxic and potentially carcinogenic

And to continue:It means that they are non-compliant; they should never have ended up in our supermarkets. Following the alert launched by Belgium in September 2020 on the European network, it was first discovered that the sesame seeds concerned in our biscuits, breads, hummus and other prepared dishes came from India. Today, Turkey is added to the list because carob flour is used in particular for ice cream. And it is subject to contamination.

And what is worrying in the results of the German researchers is that even for the products which obtained very good marks during the test, there is always a contaminant in the trace state. In particular, glyphosate has been found in Fusilli pasta. However, it is a chemical product, very toxic and potentially carcinogenic for the organism.

Whose fault is it ? The responsibility lies with the suppliers of raw materials in the agro-food industries. Indeed, they must review the rate of pesticides they use in their culture. Because at the end of the chain, it infects the production batches.

In particular, the researchers tested different. And some really big brands are at the top of the list. These include: Barilla, Combino, De Cecco, Rummo Bio Delverde or Buitoni. Thus, we find in all these brands glyphosate. Of course, these are traces. But that’s not reassuring… Do you prefer your pasta to Bolognese… or to glyphosate?
